Rachel Shockey, Director
Rachel Shockey is the owner and director of Shockey Dance Company, established 2011. Rachel began dancing at age two with Jerry Hansen and soon she was studying ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary dance. She moved to Kerrie's Dance Studio at age 16 and joined the competition team. She danced for the Abraham Lincoln High School dance team and was active in the Children's Theater where she was a cast member in several plays including Cats, Treasure Island, and Castaway. She also won an All American award at NDA dance camp her junior year. Rachel continued to dance with the Iowa Western dance team where she attended college to study Business.
Rachel began teaching dance at Kerri's Dance Studio while in college and later accept a position at Studio "D" in Omaha as the competitive Jazz and Contemporary instructor. Rachel travels to New York, Minnesota and other areas to attend conventions and learn from top choreographers. Her contemporary style of dance has earned her several choregraphy awards at local and national competitions. She has also judged and choreographed dances for Iowa Western Community College, Millard South High School and other organizations.
Rachel currently choreographs and teaches Preschool, Kindergarten and Beginner Combo recreational classes. In addition, she oversees the entire competition team, choreographing and teaching a number of the Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theater teams. WIth all her students, Rachel emphasizes the importance of proper dance technique as well as overall strength and flexibility. She teaches four different levels of Technique classes to help build her dancer's abilities.
Rachel Gordon, Instructor
Rachel Gordon started dancing at the age of four and began competing in dance at the age of five with Studio "D" in Omaha. She studied, and now teaches, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Pom and Ballet genres. She began teaching dance classes while in Middle School and became a full instructor and choreographer while in High School. Rachel was a member of the Millard North High School dance team, and later studied Jazz and Ballet at the University of Iowa.
At Shockey Dance Company, Rachel teaches Strength and Flexibility, and Leaps and Turns technique classes, as well as a number of competitive Jazz, Contemporary, Musical Theater and Hip Hop teams. In addition, she is the sponsor and coach of the Millard South High School dance team.
Rebecca Tunink, Recreational Class InstructorTitle
Rebecca has been dancing since the age of 4. She started out dancing and student teaching at Studio D in Omaha, Nebraska. Rebecca's favorite dance genre is Tap. She has been dancing at Shockey Dance Company since we opened and has been teaching here for the last 3 years.
Rebecca graduated from Millard South High School with Honors. She loves teaching children. Rebecca has a love for dance and enjoys seeing that passion for dance grow in the children she teaches. Rebecca attends the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is majoring in Elementary Education.

Jill Vescio, Instructor
JIll has been dancing since the age of three, studying Hip Hop, Clogging and Tap. In the last thirteen years Jill has been a member of several competitive dance troupes, winning several regional titles and seven national championships. In 2003 and 2007 Jill performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with her clogging group under the direction of Rennae Tieken. She was also a member of the Project 1371 competitive team for four years. In 2013 Jill graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Secondary Education.
Jill has taught at Shockey Dance Company since it's inception. She choreographs and teaches Recreational, Clogging and Tap. Additionally, Jill choreographs and teaches Competitive Tap. She has received several choreography awards at regional competions. Her modern style of Tap and Clogging, as well her strong HIp Hop choreography, has made her a much sought after instuctor.
Mallary began dancing at Rennae's School of Dance at the age of 4. In 2003 and 2006, Mallary preformed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. In 2010, her senior solo won at Spotlight Nationals with self-choreography. She was a memeber of the Northwest Missouri State Dance Team from 2011-2015 and a team captain in 2015.
At Shockey Dance Company Mallary teaches, competitive Hip Hop & Clogging. In addition to, recreational Clogging, Tap & Jazz. Mallary is a wonderful additon to the Shockey Dance Company family.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Alexandra Hoffman received her classical ballet training under the direction of Ana Lobe of Cleveland San Jose Ballet. As a dancer at Louisville Ballet, Alexandra performed a variety of roles including the principal girl in La Vivandiere, and a soloist in Paquita. She has danced in numerous classical productions including Bruce Simpson's Swan Lake, Suite en Blanc, Giselle, La Sylphide, Alun Jones' Cinderella, and Val Caniparoli's The Nutcracker and A Cinderella Story. Alexandra moved to Omaha to join Ballet Nebraska and is excited to start her second season. She also looks forward to growing the ballet program and Shockey Dance Company.
Madison began dancing at the age of three and by the age of six she was dancing competitively. Madison has been dancing with Shockey Dance Company since it opened in 2011. She competes Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop & Musical Theater. Dancing is her passion! She has been rewarded for her hard work in the studio by earning numerous overall awards and placements, including 5 titles, as well as many scholarships and invitations to exclusive dance intensives across the country. Madison's ultimate goal is to become a professional dancer, to work as a choreographer, and later to own a studio of her own. She is excited to share her love of dance with students of Shockey Dance Company. She is currently teaching recreational Hip Hop & Jazz.
