Shockey Dance Company offers a wide variety of dance styles for the recreational dancer and for the competition dancer: jazz, tap, clogging, musical theater, lyrical, contemporary and hip-hop.

This class is for the first or second year preschooler. Child must be potty-trained. Basic elements of ballet, tap and jazz are taught. These tiny dancers perform a tap dance in recital.
This class provides the next step in dance, with students learning basic ballet and tap skills. The students will perform a tap routine in the recital.
Designed for first or second year dancers aiming for a solid foundation in tap and jazz. The beginner jazz classes are traditionally structured jazz classes which work on basic coordination. Simple warm-up movements are introduced and students continue to progress in center and across the floor work.
Tap is a form of dance characterized by using shoes, as well as the floor, as a percussive instrument. Tap classes will learn a tap routine to be performed in the annual recital.
Musical Theater combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. This class is designed to tell a story through the dance and will perform in the annual recital. Jazz is the primary style of our musical theater pieces.
Placement in one of our levels is determined by the director. Intermediate classes teach from age-appropriate curriculum which enables the student to build their technique as they work towards more advanced levels.
Hip-hop classes will teach age appropriate hip-hop and body isolation movements. Simple hip-hop tricks will be introduced at the beginner level. The intermediate level teaches more advanced hip-hop movement and focuses on dancers embracing the proper attitude and style of hip-hop. Hip-hop classes will perform in the annual recital.
Beginners are introduced to the lyrical style. Emotion and performance are emphasized. A recital piece will be taught in this class. The intermediate or advanced lyrical dancers must be taking a ballet and/or jazz technique class in order to participate. Dancers will work on the lyrical style incorporating appropriate levels of technique, emotion and performance for their recital piece.
Clogging is a type of folk dance in which the dancer's footwear is used musically by striking the heel, the toe or both against a floor or each other to create audible percussive rhythms, usually to the downbeat with the heel keeping the rhythm.
